I kinda like it. Keep conference championship and winner qualifies as 1st round playoff. But you have to actually organize it. 8 conferences, 8 or 10 teams each.

G6 teams should host their own playoffs. Similar to college basketball NIT.

They still have bowls for G6 teams. The revenue is there, tie the games to those bowls like the CFB.
