Sounds like you have older kids and I think that’s the best leg room option over the small suvs (telluride, etc)
You’ll want something bigger for road trips. If you wanted to rent something bigger for road trips like a Tahoe, then maybe look at the Kia sorento hybrid. Gonna be tight in back but sounds like you hardly have all the kids. Think that’d be a good commuter car as well
