I think your theory is skewed a little bit because Brady and Mahomes have been so dominant. I agree that to win a Super
Bowl a QB has to be able to beat you with his arm, especially on third down. I agree that a pure dual threat guy will have a hard time winning the Super Bowl.

But I disagree that Tom Brady type guys (I.e., statues) are better suited to win Super Bowls. To win in the modern NFL, you have to be either mobile or Tom Brady. Pass rushers are so good and fast, if you can’t keep plays alive by moving out of the pocket, you’re toast.

Mahomes can do this. Stafford can (at least, he could three years ago), Josh Allen can, Burrow can, Lamar can, Hurts can, Purdy can, etc.

The only good QBs in the NFL that don’t really fit that mold are Goff, Cousins, and Stroud. And Aaron Rogers now. But pointing out that Brady won a lot of Super Bowls means that pocket guys are more suited to win is incorrect, IMO.

Experience is obviously critically important. But younger guys in today’s NFL won’t live long enough to get that type of experience if they can’t move.
