I was at that game. A couple of things I remember.
The K-State fans dominated, even though BYU had traveled well. They were super positive and friendly, before, during, and after the game.

By the time we walked out of the game, the vendors outside the stadium were selling Cotton Bowl t-shirts that already had the game score on them. They were cheaper than the pre-price versions, presumably because the "wrong" team (fewer fans) had won.

My brother (also on CB) was in the BYU band, together with his future unpleasant ex-wife. They sounded good.

I didn't think Dallas was super interesting as a city to visit.
