I’ve only watched the first season of Succession but I’d hardly call it a comedy.
It’s a comedy like Billions is a comedy. Sure it has funny moments, but they’re so dark and surrounded by drama that it’s hardly that funny.
I haven’t seen The Bear, so I don’t know why it’s a “comedy”. I’ve heard to some extent that’s up to the producers and what category they submit to the committees for consideration.
