Does explain giving up 15 pts against SMU when their average ball field position
was our territory, 😆 (not to mention 14 pts against Wyoming and 13 pts against SIU). To say it nicely, to argue that our defense has not bailed out our poor offense this year is ignorant.
A poor punt is more of an indicator of our defense bailing out our poor offense.
Two arbitrary stats (that really aren’t very good anyway when taken in context against poor teams) does not make a good argument :(.
