Before the season, the question was, could byu compete and how would we know the
y could.

How you play matters, and last year it was obvious we were going to struggle on offense all year long.
Has that changed this year? Not as much perhaps as we would like. The run game still is a question mark. qb is turnover prone, and he has moments(several plays in a row) where he just appears rattled. The recieving core looks good with their hands. Epps improved. But against SMU, was there any separation?
We still have a lot of questions about the OC and his play calling.

Defense last year, while we were excited to see a change in philosophy, it really didn't perform much better than the year before. What would it be this year?
Well, its very, very solid this year. And the depth looks better. I was a little surprised our line didn't get better penetration against Wyo. So I think we still have some questions there.

Have we seen enough to think we can beat KSU? I think our players are better this year than last, but our coaching staff still has some question marks. And will that be our weak spot on Saturday?
Most years, I can settle for the expectation that we should beat the Toledo's and ECU's of this world. And I think we would do so handily this year. Every year, with the rare exception when we have an nfl qb and rb in the back field, I just want us to be able to compete with the tougher teams on the schedule. This year, I think we can compete. And I think against some teams win.

Against KSU? I think we can compete if we can establish a run game and limit qb turnovers.
