This is a big concern with A-Rod. 3rd down conversion rate is a crucial stat.

BYU got a first down on 5 of the 11 times they reached third down. They only punted 4 times

So while the 3rd Down play failed to convert, in at least 3 cases it at least set up a manageable 4th down

Last year we converted 28% of third downs and 50% of 4th. So far this year it's 28% on third and 80% on 4th.
