Read through my posts, I’m one of Zach’s biggest critics here. But he’s not a game manager. Maybe we’re arguing semantic
semantics here.

But a game manager is a guy who is good enough to go in and win if everyone else does their job. They will go in there and make the right reads and will play well enough to not lose. But they won’t beat you when things don’t go right. They’re not guys like Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, etc. who have enough talent to go out there and win games even when everything else goes to crap around them.

I don’t think that’s Zach’s ceiling. Again, maybe we’re arguing semantics here. But a ceiling is someone’s best-case scenario. I think Zach is physically talented enough to be a guy who can go out, put the team on his back, and win games by himself. He hasn’t put anything close to that on the field because of mental stuff. But his physical upside is huge if he can get everything else right. That’s a high ceiling guy.

In comparison, a guy like Mac Jones, who doesn’t have nearly as strong of an arm and isn’t nearly as mobile, even if everything else clicks, he doesn’t have the physical talent to go out and win the game himself.

Zach’s ceiling is as high as anyone not named Anthony Richardson or Josh Allen. I don’t think he’ll get close to that. If I had to bet, I think he’s closer to being out of the league than ever starting again as a team’s first option (I.e., not due to injury). But that doesn’t mean the potential isn’t there.
