Chamberlain Burgess - the U of Illinois perspective
Quick update from one of the key UI insiders on Chamberlain Burgess and their take on him as a player and as a potential recruit (from his post on a UI board):

Burgess is a good athlete who can shoot from outside and also block some shorts. Illini asst Zach Hamer was in to see him on Wed and Burgess is scheduled to take an official visit the weekend of the Purdue football game on Oct 12th.

This will be a tough one to pull off, given Burgess' BYU ties. His parents both played basketball at BYU and his uncle, Chris Burgess, is an assistant on Kevin Young's staff in Provo. The Illini want to shoot their shot, though, and also build the relationship if it doesn't work out the first time, it could pay dividends later on.

One interesting note with Burgess is that he's planning to go on a two-year mission, so while he's a '25 recruit, he wouldn't play basketball until 2027.
