We don't know if the game clock started late, but if there were 2 full seconds..
the game clock, and it only took 1.84 seconds, then there would still be time left on the clock.
CFB doesn't have tenths of seconds as part of the game. There could have only been .1 seconds left when his knee touched the ground, but it would still show 1 second on the clock.
