I disagree. But Skattebo, La Tech Crosby, UTSA Barnes all had BYU interest...
...and zero follow through (from BYU).

Crosby 915 rush yds as a frosh
Barnes 700+ & 800+ rush yds as jr & soph

Skattebo was likely a PWO commit had their been camp invites.

All 3 of them are far better RBs than Davis, Roparti & LJ(as a frosh, though LJ has excellent potential)..

And Ash is definitely the type of diverse D1 caliber/potential(in both O & D) that BYU should be contacting and having him camp as he's still developing just starting jr yr, etc...

It's the lack of follow up with athletes of this caliber that is most frustrating...

Of Note: going into the season, our top 3 RBs outside of LJ(Davis, Roparti & Pokai H) had less than 60 rushes throughout their entire HS careers combined.

And RB is such a instinctive type of position; the vision(seeing holes, cutbacks, etc) it isnt like a freak, big bodied athlete such as Ziggy learning a lineman position...It's honed over yrs of practice and mostly innate(the high level pro potential ones).

I'm guessing there isn't a FBS in the nation, in yrs, that has 3 of its top 4 RBs never play the position in HS(although Roparti played some in JC, though only 600 yds rushing)...
