Besides that, the top SEC teams definitely play other top teams in the 4 team playoff each year, and the SEC consistently outperforms the other conferences by a wide margin in the playoffs.

But going back to the question I asked - who would you put in the top 7 in place of those SEC teams? Certainly not Florida State and Clemson, the expected top ACC teams. Not Utah and Ok St and Kansas, the top expected Big 12 teams. Not Michigan. Penn State hasn't looked dominant at all.
