They paid the MWC $23M to agree to the scheduling deal. In addition to that the poaching clause was almost $11M per team which makes the poaching penalty $43M...that doesn't replace the $23M that they already paid for the agreement though. Had they invited 9 MW teams (or 8 pushing AFA to the American) they could have had 9 votes in the MW to dissolve the conference and make all of the fees go away.
