StantonMac Monkey see monkey do
My point wasn't very clear (blame it on typing on the phone and not wanting
to spell everything out.)

I've seen people talking about how bad Wyoming's defense is, and using the 48 points ASU scored as evidence. That's misleading, because Wyoming's defense didn't give up 48 points. They gave up 17 on "traditional" drives, and 17 more when ASU had short fields to work with. The other 14 points the defense had no part in at all.

As I said in the OP, Wyoming's defense is solid and I don't see BYU's offense putting up a bunch of points on them.

Obviously, BYU's defense can help increase the point total both directly and indirectly as ASU's defense did by scoring points and getting great field position for their offense. Trying to guess how that plays out wasn't meant to be in the scope of my original post.
