In terms of TV - there probably isn't enough TV revenue to properly pay two conferences (MWC and P12) out west + the west coast of B12, ACC, and B10. This seems like it would divide the money the MWC could make in two.
Access to playoff is now even more competitive - Sun Belt, CUSA, MWC, MAC, AAC, and the P12. Now you have 6 conferences competing for 1 spot instead of 5.
This might be sign that there is going to be even more division coming up based on the financial Future of the CFB. The writing on the wall is pretty clear that the FBS is splitting into three Levels.
1. Big 10/SEC/ plus a handful of current ACC and B12 schools.
2. Remaining Big12 and ACC - plus the new P12
3. Everyone else
