Matt was a serviceable QB for BYU about 20 years ago, cut/injured his hand hitting a player's helmet on follow through from a pass.

IIRC, it was a serious wound, he came back too soon and made the hand worse.

Rising probably doesn't have as serious an injury, but Berry's experience would suggest he take the right amount of time coming back.
