I highly recommend visiting the 9/11 Museum once in your life.
It's been a few years, but easily the most impactful memorial/museum I've ever visited, and it just pummels you with about every emotion you can think of. It's depressing, haunting, morbid, fascinating, inspiring, patriotic, heroic, and everything in-between.
