Yes, they are common in Greece I just didn't find them in psytopoleios. (Where
Gyros are ordered)
However, I admit I spent my entire time in Athens and Cyprus, so if they had lamb gyros in other areas as a regionalism, I wouldn't know.
I did visit Thessaloniki and had beef (only time I saw it) so I don't discount pockets of lamb. But I was in all areas of Athens and I never saw it.
