I think this leads to a more conservative style of offense with less upside.
I think we have seen our offense get really conservative.
I would rather say maximize opportunities, execute our game plan, or take what is there.
My only experience with this is in coaching basketball. If we had a young man struggling with turnovers, telling him to take care of the ball didn’t help. We had to teach him how to go on the offensive. Put the pressure on the defender. Change his mind set.
I know it’s different, but I want a QB that takes some chances. I just don’t like handcuffing the QB to checking down and creating a very vanilla offense. I would rather have the Ty Detmer approach in outscoring our opponents.
