I am wagering that to this point we has seen a lot of the newer freshman and sophomores on this team who came into this season with little to no time on a college soccer pitch prior to this season. There is little doubt the coaching staff has had to make the correct decision prior to the start of Big 12 play to get the youngsters as much playing time as possible up to now and why not? What could have been of more value heading into conference play than to do exactly that? Is there anything more important during exhibition play and early season matches versus non-conference teams than to work on figuring out who deserves time and figure out the who's who of a regular starting squad and some sort of substitution rotation? The team is down no less than 15 players from last year's squad and has had rotating injuries to boot while playing a significantly tough schedule so far. Here comes conference play and just to say it the first match VS. AZ State has them once again facing a team with ZERO losses to this point. Optimistically one would think there is a solid chance for a win on South field this Weds. considering that this opponent barely managed a 2-1 home victory today over Utah Tech!
