If you look at the picture of the bullet holes through the windshield, the middle one is where the bullet was coming for his head and he put up his arm do shield himself. The bullet is still in his arm and they are not planning to remove it.

The family could have been planning a funeral. Fortunately, they are just waiting for him to recover enough to get back to work.
