As I understand it, that game is not being counted as a conference game. They already had it scheduled (as a
non-conference game) before the PAC12 collapsed and Utah landed in the Big12.
I guess Utah didn't want to scramble at the "last minute" to find another non-conference game to replace that one, so everyone agreed to keep it on the schedule as a non-conference game. (Meaning that it doesn't count in the standings.)
