I bought a Ridgid brand drill about 2 decades ago and somehow got lucky with the best battery drill ever made. It's had no issues and it had tons of power and even came with a second battery. But yesterday, it suddenly died. I'm sure some of you have that favorite tool that you look forward to using every time, and for me, it was that drill.

I am sad.

Anyway, fast forward 15-20 years and I'm in the market for a replacement. Any suggestions from you DIYer's? Is there one that has long battery life, plenty of power, ease of use, etc., that you love? I don't have a preferred brand because my home is not green, red, yellow, or blue. It's a mix of all of them.

I'm willing to pay for quality that will last me another 15-20 years.
