quarter, it felt like when Retzlaff did something right, the other players messed up, so the play failed. When there was some great play to be made, and all the other players were doing everything right, Retzlaff would do something wrong. And sometimes, it seemed like none of the players knew what the heck they were supposed to be doing for that play. I was wishing all the players could choose the same plays to get it wrong so that all the rest of the plays would be amazing--it felt like all the pieces were there, but the offense just isn't functioning as a coherent unit, yet.

Our defense seemed pretty much on their game the whole night.

And, it was pretty sweet watching the ESPN predictor swinging from 75% chance SMU win, to hovering between the mid-50's to mid 60's % chance SMU wins, to a 51% chance BYU wins, to a 99.9% chance of BYU win at the end.
