2nd Q 3rd and 9 BYU gives up 15 yds, then 1st and 10 another 15 yds. Then another 17 yds to allow SMU a FG despite having SMU in 3rd and long in SMU territory.

3rd Q 3rd and 9 BYU gives up 12 yds. SMU scores a FG.

Several times in the game BYU had great penetration into the backfield but couldn't get the TFL or sack.

Multiple times SMU had wide open receivers in the middle of the field that the QB didn't see or couldn't connect with.


Not saying BYU didn't play a great game, or that they have to be perfect to get an A. Just saying I think they are somewhere around a B or B+, especially against a team like SMU that I think will likely be seen as a mediocre team by the end of the season. People keep talking about how we were the underdogs as though that means something. That just tells me how bad people thought we were going to be this year, not how good SMU was supposed to be.
