because normally, every single other game ive watched, if the returner fair catches the ball, the refs blow the whistle dead. There was not a SINGLE whistle blown for that fair catch, and our boys kept playing until the end.

Yes, they should be more aware and watch the returner to make sure.. but that was just as much the officials fault and I dont think the officials even realized he fair caught it until the complaints came in after the fact.
