last year they had a very good defense and then they went out and upgraded massively through the portal. They added 8 guys on the DL alone, and the guys they added across the board were highly respected, and expensive. The SMU boosters have deep pockets for football and used them in the off season.

I wasn't impressed with the offense last night, but some of it wasn't our guys. We need the offense to improve. The option on 4th and inches was dumb. Jake needs to take better care of the ball. There are a lot of things that need to get better.

Even with that, BYU won the game. On the road. Against the team we were given the least likelihood of beating. Our defense was the best I've seen it in a very long time, and SMU had the 8th best score per game in the nation last year.

So I'm going to enjoy this week and being 2-0, after BYU beat a team they weren't supposed to be able to beat, on the road.
