Yeah, that’s the idea of the Dunning-Krueger effect. The more you know, the more you understand you don’t know compared
to the people who really do know. Then you can get a real appreciation for what all has to be considered and you’re often less-likely to criticize because you know how many of the criticisms are facile and that this person isn’t actually an idiot.

Finally understanding the amount of complexity involved you become less assured of your own opinion’s superiority.
