Nope it doesn’t excuse it. It often explains it though. People often attribute
Malice from the opposition when it often has nothing to do with malice. Sometimes it’s stupidity, or ignorance; sometimes it’s nothing more than a difference in perspective or perception. We’re all guilty of it (ya even the moderates, you too).

I was suckered into one of those garbage “10 compliments that are actually insulted” articles. The author turned a bunch of positive phrases into something negative. It was gross but we see people do it all the time.

Telling someone they’re a great mom, or saying something like “ya that bulge is barely noticeable” can be taken the wrong way. That’s life.
