My wife and kids were flying right in the middle of this. Through Atlanta no less. Miraculously they didn't have any issues but it caused a lot of anxiety and we made a lot of backup plans in case she ended up stuck in Atlanta for days. It was very frustrating to see this happen since every time other airlines have major issues, I smugly think "this is why I always fly Delta." I do believe they care as an organization about minimizing the pain of flying, so I'm glad to hear they made things right for you.
