We had an employee go out on FMLA. Her position was one we couldn’t go without but FMLA rules say we have to hold that
Position or an equivalent for the employee to return. It didn't make sense to hire someone locally that we would have to let go in 2-3 months or whenever the employee was suppose to come back. We filled the position with a VA for 70% less money through a contract agency in the phillapines. She’s been great and the gal that went out on FMLA decided not to come back. We will keep the VA and save the money.
Where we are the cost of the employee is between $60-65k w benefits. The VA will cost me $20k. I didn’t go that route to save money but I have no hesitation hiring another VA for the next opening I have.
