I'm a pianist not a guitarist, but when I went looking for a guitar 20 years ago, I was looking at Taylor's and Martin's however the guitar store in Carlsbad (now defunct) sold me on a Larrivee. Unfortunately I don't play enough to give it justice, but it's a nice guitar.
