Experience and training
Years in the program is impossible to replicate especially the physical development that players gain under the tutelage of the strength and conditioning staff. Fryer and Bailey both have D1 physical strength this season. Walbruch does too....and that makes a difference.

The raw material is on the team, but the reality is that Freshman like Stratton, who came in and played at D1 from jump, are the exception. It's hard to be patient after the last 3 years of exceptional success, but BYU isn't UCLA and won't get all the best transfers who are plug and play so accepting that Rockwood needs time to grow young players is reality.

The USU game promises to be a real opportunity to see how fast players are developing. If the second half from last night and the second half of the St. Louis game can become more common this will be the game to see it. USU will play BYU hard and look at a chance to make a statement. Hope the Cougs are ready.
