It’s only $150. One night in a hotel is twice that.
IMO a comfortable bag that will keep you warm, even if it’s just a dozen nights over a lifetime, is worth an extra 50-70
When he has kids, he’s going to have father/son overnighters. His kid will need a bag when he starts ym/yw. This bag will get him through all that for just a bit more
