In fact, it was even worse than that. Even at practices Lone Peak would have players that would sit and watch for nearly the entire practice. Like 2 hours and they would just sit and watch the starters and a couple of key subs. Undeniably, the starters and key subs (usually underclassmen who were clearly going to be starters next year) were excellent, but why in the world are you having 7-10 players sit around for 2 hours in a practice. It was dumb.
Aside from that weirdness, I think coach Jolley is a good coach. She holds players accountable, mostly communicates openly and honestly, has a clear strategy, and recognizes talent really well (though arguably that is not too hard at Lone Peak). I found the failure to sub more, especially in the playoffs, baffling.
