Here's something I did (not for everyone of course). I couldn't finish books for
A long time until I switched to (instead of reading 1 book at a time), I read 20-25 books concurrently. I just read a couple pages of each book and go along down the line on the shelf, each subject can hold my attention for a short time and then I just move on to the next book.

So now instead of getting bogged down in one book that can't hold my attention, I now finish about 20 books a year. I just have a good post it note in each book to keep my place.

Not sure this is helpful to anyone. My thoughts are just figuring out the best way for you to accomplish tasks.

Another thing I do is I can't work out for an hour or two straight. So I'll just do push-ups randomly during the day. If I ever become unfocused, I just do some simple 30 second exercise. Body squats, curls, calf raises, whatever. Then I just have a checklist by my desk that I check off when I do an exercise.
