Not only am I grounded, but sports medicine is my field!
There are two sides to it. Mental and physical.

Mentally, can he be the same guy after a second season ending injury? He came back from the first one without issue. But I’ve seen QBs play with a lot of hesitancy after injuries.

Physically, it was so insanely dumb to think he could have played last year. Many players come back after 1 year and it takes them another season before they are back to their prior form. Covey sat an additional season as an example. But ultimately, they usually regain their full form by the second year. Cam will be 19 months. That seems to work in his favor given the extra time.

I’ve seen posts about ACL, meniscus, MPFL and MCL meaning this is a much bigger deal. Not really. MCL and MPFL tears usually are not managed surgically and the meniscus provides cushion and support over stability. I don’t think it’s that big of an issue.

To me, the question is whether Can can be a better QB in terms of throwing to WR. Can he hit deep routes, have better accuracy, and play in a system where Utah throws more. I expect him to be healthy and I expect Utah to try and keep him healthy by running him less. But when he does run, I expect him to be close to full speed. If he has had setbacks, I wouldn’t know.

He was never an NFL QB. I expect him to still be Cam Rising.
