Anytime any teammate was fouled. I think the refs got used to it and would wave him off like, “C’mon Devin, you weren’t the one who was fouled.”
I do remember at least one time that the ref gave him the ball and realized his mistake and took it back away. Who knows, maybe it even worked a time or two because he kept trying.
