There was a HUGE tom in the middle of the road, all puffed up. He made me stop and wait for him to strut off the road. He had a hen with him, along with maybe 9-10 chicks from this spring. Crazy to see them that close to neighborhoods - but it isn't uncommon to see them along the road that goes up the hill.
