I think Convict and Crowley both right there outside of Bishop are great options if we want to stay relatively south w/o too much travel required. There's a lot even past those two, just depends on how much driving you want to do. I typically backpack out of mammoth to the back country lakes, so Im not quite as familiar with the easy access ones.
