I’m trying to understand what exactly would Payton know that others in the nfl that Zach has been around are not privy to.


Again, fans like to think the game is more complicated than it is and also like to think that some coaches hold the secret knowledge of the game but it’s about advancing a ball from one spray painted line to another — it’s not that complex.

Now where I agree there is a difference at the NFL level is the coaches personality and how they communicate. None of which has much to do with football and more about emtotional IQ and how to connect with players which can help them feel more confident and comfortable. That said, there is footage of Payton yelling and losing it in Russel Wilson last season. Wilson, a longtime successful NFL QB didn’t get any better under Payton, if anything he got worse so apparently Payton doesn’t have the secret sauce.
