Had been kinda like the 8th team in the NBA Western conference since KS took over. I mean this in general, not any specific season.

8th in the western conference means you’re good enough to call it “not a disaster” but also not good enough to have any hope of greatness. But not bad enough that there’s a serious push for overall changes.

It also means you beat some good, playoff caliber teams, and you’re capable of beating anyone on a given night, but not in a series. It also means inconsistency and a possible loss to anyone who seems inferior.

It feels like a make or break year for this program. There are still so many realignment changes on the horizon, it would be bad to be considered among the worst of the P4 programs when things start to happen again. Here’s to hoping this is an improved year the program can build on.
