Yup, we had peak mice a few years ago. One day I counted over 95 carcasses on my commute to work, I killed 4 or 5 more
coming in and maybe killed an addition half dozen.

It was a crazy year and at home you had to keep bait stations full everywhere: In your cars (engine bays are great places for nests), in your camp trailers, etc.

Fortunately the scourge only lasted a year, it spiked quickly and as quick as that they left.

In our area vols come in every now and then too. Thankfully not in large enough numbers that a few traps won't take care of them.

We've had squirrels this year. Army worms one year. Sand Spiders the next. Mormon Crickets by the hundreds of thousands every few years or so (though thankfully that seems to have been under control for 20 years) and grasshoppers....the grasshoppers this year were pretty bad.

If you live near undeveloped land there is going to be SOMETHING every year. It's part of the price of living away from the urban center.
