Specific for youth football I disagree.
Many times the best athletes are put at QB. Puts the ball in the hands of the QB every play. Great spot to learn football and get reps. Many times youth QB's end up playing other positions but helps the youth football player understand other positions.

I get the worry in HS. Lots of pressure, lots of eyes on you and only one spot. That is why kids move schools, which I get. If you have a stud in front of you and can move somewhere to play I get it.

If the goal is to make it to the next level it is tricky. Very tough from a QB spot, only a spot or two offered per school per year. That being said if you are a typical HS kid that is athletic and you are ~6 ft tall and weigh 180 lbs (fitting a demographic of many on this board), you are likely not such a stud to get looks at WR or DB at the next level, you may be good in HS....but if you can be smart and sling it you may have a QB shot.
