greatbam 1% better everyday
I decided to get this book and I'm in a like / dislike mood with this book. I was diagnosed with ADHD..
as a kid but I can only relate to a few aspects of Penn Holderness's experiences.

Penn Holderness seems to be both Hyperactive and Inattentive where I'm pretty sure I just fall under the Inattentive. A lot of the book and stories seem focused on Penn's Hyperactive brain which can be sad / entertaining but again have a hard time relating with.

About 1/2 way through the book so far and I found myself upping the speed to 2x yesterday frequently to get through various parts more quickly.

I've gotten some good takeaways from the book and maybe I should've gotten to know Penn Holderness more through his social media account to get a better idea of his personality as I've gotten whiplash as some parts of the book where he comes out of left field offering various facts of this or that. I get he's trying to demonstrate his form of ADHD in book for and I realize it's his story and everything but it just throws me off while I'm listening.

I think I just get annoyed a bit because I feel like I'm being shown over and over "this is ADHD" whereas my ADHD is so different from his it has me questioning whether or not I actually have ADHD. If I were to guess I would say that Penn Holderness is definitely an Extrovert with Combined type ADHD ( Hyperactivity and Inattentive ) whereas I'm an introvert that's fit more in the inattentive type.

Lest anyone think I severely dislike the book.. like I said I am gathering takeaways and I think there are important takeaways which at this time I can't repeat off the top of my head but maybe I'll share after I'm done with the book.
