I'm still impressed that despite the loss, the US essentially matched France today statistically with a notable
exception: the US has 3x the xG that France had. IOW, the US was really unlucky as much as anything to not get a result.
Anyone hating on the US U23 team after losing to the best team in the Olympics despite playing toe to toe with them doesn't know soccer. It was a good performance today to start the Olympics for the US.
