If you have been involved with a will/inheritance how were large/expensive items such as grand pianos, cars, jewelry

Handled? Were those items distribute irrespective of value or did the person/persons inheriting said items need to pay the value of the items to inherit them. For example, if someone inherited a grand piano valued at $25,000 did they have to pay to get it?
