I haven't seen the movie, but I have seen tornadoes in the dark
It was after midnight and it was moving parallel to I-70 in Missouri coming back from Tennessee. I could only see it as the lightning flashed. It was close and crazy. I immediately sped up to unhealthy speeds to get away from it.
Living in Kansas and Alabama, I have seen a lot of tornadoes and spent a lot of time cleaning up after tornadoes on Church service outings.
