More than a few years ago, I was EQP in a quickly growing ward and we
often had moves (usually in) 5 or 6 nights a week. I remember one night we had 3 crews doing unloading at the same time at different houses or apartments.
Turnout was usually great and I only remember one time we need less than 8 guys show up.
The ward was pretty young and many elders had just recently graduated college and so they usually only had themselves, their often pregnant wife, and little kids. Most didn't have extra money and were not well off, yet.
It was a great way for us to meet new people, introduce them into the ward, etc. No one had lived in their house for more than 5 years because no house was 5 years old.
My current ward is mostly middle aged professionals in homes or people with needs in apartments. Most moves are needy single sisters. When we get a family moving into a house, we want to help and usually get a good turnout.
